C the B?

In my continuing attempts to take some "macro" shots, here is one of my best successes so far. The photo was taken at the Jordan Valley Water Conservancy Garden Park at 8215 South 1300 West in West Jordan. It is a great place to visit to learn about conserving water.

Soothing ...

There is something soothing about watching and listening to water flowing lazily along on a late summer day. This is Big Cottonwood Creek near Old Mill.

Light and Shadows ...

I was particularily pleased with the lighting I captured on this flower. The photo was taken on the grounds of La Caille.

The Road to La Caille ...

... not quite as nice or scenic as The Road to Hana, but what more could you ask for just a few miles from home!

Water and Rocks ...

This photo was taken about 10 am in Big Cottonwood Canyon. I especially like the ripple effect as the water slowly flows over the multi-colored rocks. The day was fall-like and serene.

Vacation Photo Tips ...

Although the summer vacation season is drawing to a close, here are some vacation photo tips from Kodak.

There's no reason your vacation photos should be anything short of phenomenal. One way to make sure you capture your journey from beginning to end is to tell a story with your photos:
  • Use photos to tell the story of your trip, from the time of your departure to your return.
  • Capture the details. Take pictures of signs, ticket stubs, menus, and local maps.
  • Take individual pictures of each member of your travel party with their favorite landmarks, rides, eatery or animal.
  • Carry a small notebook to jot down quick details to use later.
